It was a blast celebrating the 35th Annual Latin American Festival at the Ballantyne Bowl! We have such a vibrant and fun community, and our team enjoyed learning about the rich culture and traditions of the Latin American countries represented. Can’t wait for next year!
Lancaster Chamber of Commerce

Angelica, Ross, Evelyn, and Brian enjoyed meeting members of the community at Lancaster Chamber’s Mix and Mingle, hosted at North Corner Haven. It was a fun way to learn more about our area’s healthcare professionals and how they make an impact.

We had a great time unpacking and sorting pallets at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina! It was amazing to see how many food and beverage items are donated to those in need. What a wonderful community!

Angelica and Julio had the pleasure of attending the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s Small Business Summit. The summit is a joint effort with University City Partners to engage entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Charlotte University area.
Levine Children's Hospital

Our Member Experience Team recently put together 100 personal wellness kits for children at the Levine Children’s Hospital. The kits came complete with personal hygiene products, a comic book, and a hand-written note from our team.
Cleveland County YMCA
August 2025
Cameron and Angelica stopped by the Cleveland County YMCA to speak at their Teen Vibes program. The new program seeks to create a safe space for teens to grow, learn, and develop. As part of their financial health component, our team helped the group strategize a budget and discuss ways to save.
Florence Branch

Our Florence Branch recently donated five bookbags full of school supplies to local Carver Elementary School. What a great way to start the school year!

Each year the University of North Carolina – Charlotte presents a Camp on Campus for high school students in Mecklenburg County to introduce them to a variety of educational and occupational topics. This year, we had the pleasure of presenting our credit union and teaching them about finance basics.
Community Math Academy

United Way of Lancaster

The Sharonview team joined over 100 runners at the United Way of Lancaster’s Run for the Rose 5K! The event aims to support “community critical community needs in the areas of Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency in our community.” The organization is also a leading nonprofit in addressing homelessness and shelter insecurity in Lancaster County
Indian Land Community Festival

In early May, Raymont and Pamela attended the Replenish Church Charlotte Community Resource and Career Fair on the Goodwill Opportunity campus. It was a great time meet our neighbors, talk about Sharonview services, and explore partnership pathways with organizations like Roof Above.
Best Buddies Friendship Walk

We were proud to once again participate in the Best Buddies Friendship Walk, an annual event that seeks to raise awareness and funding for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Events like this remind us about the positive impacts we can make in just one day and how important it is to support and uplift all members of our communities.
Work on Wilmington

When the community works together, amazing things can happen! Teams from our corporate center and our Wilmington Branch gathered together to Work on Wilmington, an annual event hosted by Leadership Wilmington. In partnership with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, the project seeks to work on community projects. This year we helped with neighborhood cleanup and landscaping for the Lakeside Reserve community.
Habitat for Humanity of Greenville

What an amazing time working with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County and the Carolinas Credit Union League on this housing project! This was only the first day of the build, but it won’t be the last of Sharonview’s participation with Habitat! We’re committed to helping end homelessness in the Carolinas, so partnerships like this are integral to growing thriving communities.
My Library Project

We were thrilled to partner alongside United Way of Cleveland County, Cleveland County Schools, and other local partners for the My Home Library Project. The initiative helps get books in the hands and homes of first and second graders to establish a lifelong love of learning and early literacy!
Our Shelby Branch Manager, Bonita Thomas, also took some time to personally read to students during the event.
Second Harvest

Ridge Road Middle School’s Community Resource Fai

At Ridge Road Middle School’s Community Resource Fair, we had an opportunity to partner with some amazing nonprofits, like Heart and Hands Food Pantry, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library System, and the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy! We explored ways to partner with these organizations, talked to the community about financial literacy, and got to support our community pillars!

We’re back to school—but this time at Johnson C. Smith University’s career fair! We spoke with students about the differences between big banks and credit unions, particularly a strong focus on community and a true investment in the relationships we have with members.
Family night at Palmetto School Math Academy

Financial literacy is a cornerstone of our credit union. We believe that a good financial foundation starts with education and resources! Angelica and Patrick represented Sharonview as the “special guests” for a family night at Palmetto School Math Academy, where they talked with parents and students about the importance of financial literacy.
